“Timber is the most environmentally friendly construction material. When we grow trees we help the world we live in by producing oxygen and absorbing carbon dioxide. When we use wood we help slow the growth of global warming because wood uses far less energy to produce and build with than any other material and because homes built with wood are more thermally efficient, so need less energy to heat.”

R W Joinery is committed to achieving environmental best practice in its Headquarters activities. We seek to continually improve our environmental performance by setting and monitoring objectives and targets.

We conduct environmental reviews to measure our environmental performance and to ensure compliance with statutory requirements applicable to our business activities.

We do our utmost to promote environmental awareness amongst our employees and actively encourage them to adopt best environmental practice.

We use our buying power to encourage suppliers to adopt environmental best practice. The Environmental Management System is maintained by a programme of Internal Audits carried out by competent internal auditors.

This policy is reviewed at least once per year at our Management Review meetings or as required, in response to changes in the nature and/or size of our business and to changes in legislation and incident or hazard information.

This statement of policy intent is available to staff, customers, and suppliers upon request.
