We are pleased to advise that we have been selected by Interserve Construction to supply high specification laminated and veneer finished bespoke high performance doorsets to the country’s leading cancer hospital The Christie.
The Christie NHS Foundation Trust together with Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust are working with the Department of Health to bring the UK’s first high energy proton beam therapy service to Manchester. This will be one of only two high energy NHS proton beam therapy centres, the other being built at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The Christie is the largest single site cancer centre in Europe, treating more than 44,000 patients a year
We are very proud to be associated with The Christie, frequently it is associated with those close to us.
We are also pleased that this is the first contract to be awarded to us by Interserve Construction. We will demonstrate our attention to detail, programme and quality installation to the project’s specific needs so that they shall be able to use us confidently time and time again.
RW Joinery shall be involved with the stand alone package for the supply and installation of 340 doorsets many 2400mm and 2700mm in height and specialist clinically acceptable doorset ironmongery. It has been our early involvement with this package and our assistance in design and cost alternatives that has secured the confidence of both Interserve and the client alike.
Considerations within the specification include anti-bacterial preventative design and finishes, and high acoustic reduction performance cores and seals whilst achieving DDA guidelines and fire certification.
Works started on site on June 16 and shall be completed over a 21 week period.
