Carillion Building has released the second and third screens to RW Joinery after our successful completion of the first and trial screen.
These aren’t screens as you could ever imagine. Each is manufactured from 100 pieces of 3 metre high American Black Walnut plank proportioned fin, each cut to an individual bespoke size and suspended 7 metres above ground level. But that is too easy. Each fin is suspended at a differing angle from vertical to form a wave around the World Duty Free area. Consideration to structural movement, flight created air displacement and vibration and temperature extremes caused additional headaches for the design team.
In addition to these spectacular screens we have been contracted to supply all the doorsets, bespoke fitted furniture including a multi-faith prayer room and solid surface furniture to the new toilets and very high level gantry flooring throughout the new structure.
All works are carried out in a small time window each night. Co-ordination and forward planning and being completely flexible with our client have been paramount to our success on this project.
